No, I'm not suffering from any illness. Just feeling very tired and weak, that is all.
Oh dear, have you been working hard?
Oh it's not that, just something biological that we suffer every seven years.
????? Oh my. And you're not Vulcan, or???
Well actually, I am, sort of.
Many ages ago, the world which you know as Star Trek, really existed. The main characters are ancient mythical figures in my culture in tales and legends. These days it is assumed that they mingled with Humans, even Romulans and few other humanoid species. They also improved their DNA by manipulation so that illnesses were no longer and people lived longer and longer.
At some point these people achieved immortality and as they had roamed the universe for an age by now, they settled on several worlds and started living for art, music, culture and such. Even though many fantasy writers, even Tolkien, thought that the Elves were created by gods, it is not so.
Most of us have abandoned spaceflight. On several worlds, powerful beings seeking power even corrupted some elves who were mutilated and turned into slaves of evil.
Gosh, those became orcs right?
That is correct. So this fatigue and weariness, is the remnant of what must have been 'pon farr', the Vulcan sexdrive. Sure we can mate at any time we desire. But this rudimentary hormonal state renders us pretty much helpless.
